New from Siegmund Guitars and Amplifiers, the Suspense is a unique, hollow-body electric designed to give the liveliest sound possible from a small body guitar without many of the problems associated with conventional hollow-body instruments when amplified.
Floating braces are suspended inside a hollow body that support the wrap-around bridge, which is not attached to the top like on other guitars. The pickups get a quality from the vibrating strings very similar to the lively and dynamic character of acoustic hollow-body guitars. The neck is attached to the top and back and supports the pickups. By separating the bridge from direct contact with the body, neck and pickups the Suspense can be used in a loud amplified environment without fighting out-of-control, droning feedback.
The Suspense's appearance is like a solidbody guitar, but the tone from the pickups sounds and feels like a semi-acoustic guitar. Unplugged, the Suspense has an unique tone that seems to fall between those two types of guitars.
The Suspense includes a figured Mahogany bookmatched and handcarved top, hollowed out one-piece Mahogany body,one-piece Mahogany neck with Cocobolo fingerboard and Maple burl veneer headstock. In addition, this guitar has Gotoh 510 delta tuners, Kent Armstrong P90 and Lisptick pickups, Tonepros wrap-around bridge with intonation, Cocobolo soapbar pickup cover and knobs and a clear high gloss oil finish.
