Oregon’s Governor Ted Kulongoski said, “Thanks for making Oregon a better place” in a recent interactive tour of Breedlove’s custom shop. Over the past four months Breedlove has increased its USA production by 500%, added 15 jobs during its introduction of the all new American Series of Guitars announced in January. The Central Oregon guitar maker is known for building ultra-high-end exotic guitars and the expansion has allowed them to reach a larger market seeking higher quality guitars. The new guitars have simultaneously been a hit with guitarists, musical instrument dealers and considered a timely expansion in a region hit hard by the economy.
Governor Kulongoski signed the first Breedlove American Series guitar after a highly interactive shop tour. Breedlove President, Peter Newport said, “The Governor was really interested in the whole process and enjoyed meeting and speaking with our staff. He even jumped in and routed a guitar body and pounded some frets. We love that enthusiasm.” Other dignitaries including Congressman Greg Walden recently toured Breedlove’s factory and shared their enthusiasm for the business expansion, their love of music, art and fine craftsmanship.
In addition to the Governor, guitarists are e-mailing and calling in their praises daily as they discover the all new Breedlove American Series Guitars. “I am impressed!!!” writes Michael Poole, guitarist, “It wasn’t my intention to buy this guitar (I have 13 acoustics…) but when I started to play it I couldn’t put it down. This one is a keeper, I’ll spread the word.” James Hatch, guitarist, wrote, “I pulled it down and strummed it. I was blown away…after playing it for about a half an hour, I bought it and haven’t put it down since.”
Breedlove’s 10 year vision aims to turn their hometown of Bend, Oregon into an acoustic music mecca. Their company mission: “To build the most extraordinary acoustic music culture in the world.”
